What we believe

Our congregation is a community rooted in God’s love and the teachings of Jesus Christ.

We welcome everyone, without exception.

We come together to worship, to educate and broaden ourselves and our children, and to challenge and deepen our beliefs.

We nourish each other by freely sharing our wisdom, our skills, and our material wealth.

We celebrate each other’s joys and bear each other’s burdens.

We embrace our differences as well as our similarities, and we respect and learn from other faith traditions and values.

We encourage each other to live simply, in harmony with God’s creation.

We  commit ourselves to changing the world by actively promoting peace and justice as individuals, as a congregation, and as members of the global Mennonite community.

Welcoming Statement

We are all made in the image of God: people of every race, ability, class, gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation. At Bethany Mennonite, everyone who covenants with us is eligible for membership, baptism, marriage, volunteer leadership, employment and pastoral ministry.

Our congregation laments the history of the institutional church in discriminating against lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual and queer people, through its actions and its silence.  We are committed to ending this oppression and discrimination.
